What makes my work unique?
MY PASSION FOR WRITING: Learning just enough about unfamiliar subjects to be able to explain difficult concepts in a way that learners can understand and then achieve the desired objectives. I believe a clear, structured, well-sequenced course can keep your learners engaged and strengthen their feelings of success.
MY FOCUS ON RELATIONSHIPS: Working my extrovert muscles to form warm, trusting relationships with my clients and being invited back when future learning needs emerge. Once I have established trust, my clients know that my recommendations come from a place of caring and also that my suggestions are grounded in Adult Learning principles.
My Perspective
I’M A TEACHER: I began my professional life in the classroom and as a 1:1 tutor. When I create learning solutions, especially asynchronous courses, I envision the learner sitting across from me. How can I make their learning fun? How can I support them? What questions will they have?
I ASK QUESTIONS: You need help with your learning solution but it’s hard to articulate exactly what you need. I’m here. I love to dig and probe and uncover until we diagnose the problem correctly together, can express what we want the learners to do, and can work on a solution.
About Me
In 2012, I transitioned from Adult Learning in Higher Ed to Workforce Learning as an Instructional Designer, returning to school and serving in several internships. I accepted consulting engagements in different industries and then worked in a full-time Senior Instructional Designer role.
I write, design, develop, organize, and implement creative online and live courses and assessments for Adult Learners. Applying proven methods and principles, I help learners achieve objectives and exceed expectations.
I am dedicated to clear and frequent communication, creating attentive and warm client relationships. I am happy when I can break down complex or technical content into digestible chunks and relatable activities.
